Enter the Splatlands, a sun-scorched desert inhabited by battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings. Splatsville, the city of chaos, is the adrenaline-fueled heart of this dusty wasteland. Even in this desolate environment, Turf War reigns supreme and battles rage in new stages located in the surrounding wilds. Dynamic new moves help these fighters dodge attacks and cover more ground, along with a new bow-shaped weapon to sling ink.

Splatoon 3 is Nintendo's colorful team-based shooter that launched in September 2022 on Switch, blending ink-splatter combat with platforming mechanics. The game continues to be supported through regular Splatfest events that engage the community around thematic voting scenarios. Recent activity has centered on the launch of Splatoon Raiders, a spin-off that serves as a more digestible entry point for players struggling with Splatoon 3's learning curve. Completing the Raiders campaign unlocks a special Splattershot weapon for use in the main game. Nintendo has marked Raiders' arrival with a celebratory Splatfest featuring speed, power, and tactics as voting options. Beyond gameplay updates, Dark Horse Comics is releasing a 400-page art book in December 2026 that showcases character designs, weapons, maps, storyboards, and comics from Splatoon 3's development.
