What is happening now
Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest mainline entry in NetherRealm's flagship fighting franchise, released across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch. The game features the studio's signature blend of brutal combat, cinematic presentation, and competitive depth. The competitive scene remains active despite a lull in balance patches. Prominent players like STG| TragicMS0, who has placed highly at major tournaments including CEO 2026 and Frosty Faustings XVIII, continue analyzing the game's current state. Recent community discussion has centered on character tier lists in light of the extended period since the last update, with speculation about whether the game has reached its final balance pass.
