About
The King is Watching is a roguelite strategy game that blends city building, tower defence, and kingdom management under the rule of an exceptionally demanding monarch. Developer Hypnohead and publisher tinyBuild released the game on PC in July 2025, with a console expansion following this month. The game has now arrived on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch as of July 29, priced under $16, with a simultaneous Microsoft Store PC release. Coverage indicates the console port functions well enough despite some control considerations inherent to adapting a strategy title for controllers. The gameplay loop centers on directing peasants, miners, and knights through your kingdom while managing the king's watchful oversight - a core mechanic that defines the roguelite experience.
