Developer IO Division has continued rolling out regular content updates - the latest introducing a limited-time creature-hunting event alongside two new playable students and fresh raid challenges. The game has faced significant turbulence recently. Following its 5.5th anniversary stream, Nexon announced a major gacha system overhaul that would replace the long-standing Recruitment Points mechanic, sparking substantial player pushback. The move tanked the game's Steam rating to overwhelmingly negative territory before developer leadership issued an apology acknowledging the community concerns. Separately, the studio conducted its largest anti-cheat enforcement action to date, permanently banning over 122,000 global accounts. Meanwhile, IO Division continues developing its next project, the upcoming 3D anime game Fareidolia (formerly Project RX), which the team describes as offering a fundamentally different experience from Blue Archive despite sharing publisher support from Nexon.
