Atlantis

Atlantis is a 1982 arcade shooter that appeared across early home systems including the Atari 2600 and Commodore VIC-20. The recent coverage, however, focuses almost entirely on Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of the original 1996 Lara Croft adventure being developed by Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics.

The teams have been detailing their modernization efforts through developer diaries covering movement and traversal mechanics, as well as redesigned puzzle systems. The reimagining incorporates new gameplay systems including an RPG-style skill tree, herb brewing, and a focus meter mechanic. Crystal Dynamics is also ensuring Lara's signature dual pistols remain central to the experience. The title has appeared in Intel's 2026 Gamer Days promotion, though distribution through participating retailers is still rolling out.
