What is happening now
The Exorcist is an indie RPG and adventure simulator released on PC in 2017 that puts players in the role of a demon-fighting protagonist navigating supernatural encounters. Recent coverage suggests the property has expanded beyond its original game release into film adaptation territory, with Mike Flanagan directing The Exorcist: Martyrs as a sequel building directly on The Exorcist III. The film's promotional materials promise horror-focused storytelling with Scarlett Johansson attached to the project. Additionally, classic related media continues to reach Western audiences, including a newly translated English version of the SNES anime adaptation Ghost Sweeper Mikami: The Exorcist With A Nice Body, bringing the exorcism-themed entertainment across multiple formats and decades.
