Story
Near the village of Rynoka stand a series of ancient Gates leading to mysterious realms filled with valuable relics and dangerous creatures. Will, a young shopkeeper who dreams of becoming a hero, ventures into these dungeons at night while managing his family’s shop by day. His expeditions gradually draw him toward the secrets hidden beyond the Gates and the long-sealed fifth dungeon.
Moonlighter blends action RPG dungeon crawling with shop management, asking players to raid procedurally-generated dungeons by night and run a merchant operation by day. The loop ties together combat, item acquisition, crafting, and village progression into a cozy but challenging experience.
The original game recently went free on Steam ahead of bigger news: Moonlighter 2 has now exited Early Access with a full 1.0 release across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. The sequel, subtitled The Endless Vault, lands on Xbox Game Pass Premium and brings a completed story alongside endless endgame content. The second installment appears to expand on the formula that made the first game resonate with players seeking a blend of action and management mechanics.
