Super Mario 3D World mod lets you play third or first person in VR
A whole new world for Mario
While having a walk in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Toad and Peach, and Luigi happen on one of the many green pipes, yet a special one. A fairy, which they'll learn is Princess Sprixie, comes out. Bowser is chasing after her, though: he kidnaps her and vanishes through the pipe. Mario and the friends of his can't but promptly jump into the pipe, and they find themselves in the Sprinxie Kingdom, tasked with rescuing the princess.
Super Mario 3D World is a 3D platformer that launched on Wii U in 2013, blending traditional Mario level design with depth-based navigation and cooperative multiplayer. The game follows the established formula of collecting power-ups and reaching flagpoles across inventive stages, but adds the ability to play as multiple characters and control movement across both horizontal and vertical planes.
Recently, the game has attracted modding attention, with developers creating a VR mod that allows players to experience the levels from either a third-person or first-person perspective. This community modification demonstrates ongoing interest in reinterpreting the original game's design for new platforms and viewing angles, giving players fresh ways to engage with content nearly a decade after its initial release.
