Gears of War: E-Day Beta Crosses 20,000 Concurrent Players on Steam
The beta for Gears of War: E-Day has surpassed just about every other game in the franchise that had been released on Steam.
Concurrent is an action game released on PC in July 2022. Recent coverage has focused on concurrent player milestones across several titles in the action space. Project Zomboid, the long-running early access zombie survival sim, recently hit a new record of over 121,000 concurrent players following a substantial map update that introduced reworked towns, a new orphanage location, and hundreds of procedurally generated basements - the update also accompanied a price increase for the game. Meanwhile, other action-adjacent releases have shown notable Steam engagement: Mistfall Hunter, a Souls-like title from Bellring Games, peaked near 45,000 concurrent players and crossed 500,000 total players overall, with a major update bringing the Mist Lord to Einherjar Mode in development. Machine Party, a multiplayer party game, sold over 500,000 copies in its first week and reached 20,000 concurrent players, while the Gears of War: E-Day beta surpassed performance records for previous entries in the franchise on Steam.
