Silent Hill 2 Remake is a ground-up reimagining of the 2001 psychological horror game. It follows James Sunderland as he searches for his deceased wife in the fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill. The remake features entirely rebuilt visuals in Unreal Engine 5, over-the-shoulder gameplay, reworked combat, and new voice acting. The Deluxe Edition contains the main game, a digital artbook, the digital soundtrack, and Pyramid Head Mask (pizza box).

Story

Having received a letter from his deceased wife, James Sunderland heads to Silent Hill, where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her… "My name... is Maria," the woman smiles. Her face, her voice... She's just like her.

What is happening now

Silent Hill 2: Deluxe Edition is Bloober Team's remake of the classic survival-horror puzzle game, released across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC in October 2024. The Polish studio brought its signature approach to psychological horror and atmospheric design to reimagine the original's exploration and puzzle-solving mechanics. Since launch, Bloober Team has remained active with new projects rather than extensive post-release support for the remake itself. The studio recently announced Onyx: The Dark Grip, a 2.5D horror title exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 that will operate in handheld mode only. The announcement came via Nintendo Direct, marking Bloober Team's foray into Nintendo's next-generation hardware following their work on Silent Hill 2 and other recent titles like Cronos: The New Dawn.
