About

Alley Cat is an early video game in which the player controls a cat, navigating an alley screen and various challenge rooms. The player must enter a room and complete the objective inside, while avoid hazards such as objects being thrown out of windows, wandering dogs, giant spiders and the broomstick.

What is happening now

Alley Cat is a platformer and arcade game originally released in December 1983 for Atari 8-bit, PC-8800, and DOS systems. The game has maintained a small but dedicated following among retro enthusiasts over the decades. Recent interest in the title has been renewed through fan projects reinterpreting its gameplay for other platforms. Developer Jordi has released Misifu Remeow for ZX Spectrum Next, a spiritual successor inspired by Alley Cat's mechanics. The game was originally created as a demake entry for the ZX-DEV MIA remake competition before receiving an overhauled version, offering players familiar with the 1983 original a chance to experience similar platforming gameplay on more contemporary retro hardware.
