Story
"Top Gear (Top Racer in Japan), is a racing video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Kemco and developed by Gremlin Graphics in 1992. The objective of the game is to become the fastest driver in the world by racing other drivers across several nations. The franchise is unrelated to the TV series of the same name. The game is an arcade-style racing game that can be played by two players at the same time." "When players first start the game, they are given several options to choose from, including entering their name, a choice of four different controller layouts, a choice between automatic or manual transmission, and their choice of four unique cars. During the race, the player will have to steer and shift gears (if they chose a manual transmission). The player is also given control over three "nitros", which allow the player to increase their speed for a short period of time." - wikia
What is happening now
Top Gear is a racing game originally released for Super Nintendo and Satellaview in 1992. The title has maintained cultural relevance well beyond its original platform. Recent activity shows the Top Gear brand extending into multiple directions. The television series has been confirmed to be reviving with comedian Jimmy Carr reportedly in consideration for a presenter position. Meanwhile, the franchise's reach into gaming continues through Forza Horizon 6, where the iconic Top Gear Test Track has been recreated as a playable circuit. Players can now race on the famous layout and benchmark their times against reference laps associated with the show's test driver character.
