Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon is an acclaimed roguelike strategy RPG that arrived in 2016 and has since found its way across numerous platforms. The game tasks players with managing expeditions into procedurally generated dungeons while grappling with the psychological toll the experience takes on their party.

Nearly a decade after its initial release, developer Red Hook Studios is breathing new life into the original game with "The Fire's Edge," marking the first substantial DLC expansion in roughly six years. The expansion reportedly borrows character classes from Darkest Dungeon 2, which launched in 2023 to a more mixed reception than its predecessor. Beyond the game itself, the franchise is expanding into other media - a graphic novel adaptation is in development through Vault Comics, with crowdfunding expected to commence in October, while creative direction is being handled by talent known for work on Dark Souls.
