About
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is the next chapter in the acclaimed action-adventure franchise from SHIFT UP. Blood Rain will continue the story beyond the events of the first game and introduce a new protagonist, Evie.
What is happening now
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is the sequel to Shift Up's 2024 action game, continuing the hack-and-slash RPG experience with a new protagonist named Evie. Development is actively ramping up, with the studio expanding its workforce significantly to support the project. Recent attention has centered on Shift Up's promotional choices rather than gameplay details. The studio released an AI-generated music video for the game's promotional track "Wanna be in LOVE," which drew criticism from the community. Following the backlash, studio leadership addressed the controversy, clarifying that AI use would be limited to experimental marketing content rather than in-game material, though they maintained the technology's relevance to game development going forward. Meanwhile, the game's official trailer tracks have been made available on major streaming platforms.
