What is happening now
Watch Dogs: Legion is an open-world shooter-adventure set in a near-future London where players recruit and control a resistance movement of hackable civilians. Released in late 2020 across multiple platforms, the game has struggled to maintain momentum since launch. Recent reporting suggests Ubisoft is planning a significant refresh of the title. A Director's Cut version is reportedly in development for release next year, though specifics about what improvements or additions it will contain remain unclear. More ambitiously, sources claim the publisher is also working on a full remake targeting 2027, signaling that Ubisoft sees untapped potential in the franchise despite the original's mixed reception. Whether either project will successfully revitalize the property remains to be seen.
