Nioh 3 2026

About

Nioh 3 is Team Ninja's samurai action RPG that launched on PlayStation 5 and PC in February 2026, building on the series' demanding soulslike combat with new mechanics that reshaped how the main character operates. The game's shift toward more open-area design appears to have resonated with players. The first major expansion, Hell Rising, arrived in August 2026 with a substantial content package. The DLC follows protagonist Takechiyo into a dreamlike vision of 1651 Edo after an encounter with a mysterious yokai, where the region has descended into conflict. The expansion introduces new weapons and abilities alongside a new stage, along with an additional ultra-difficult mode for players seeking extreme challenges. Coverage suggests the DLC successfully doubles down on what made the base game click, making it a substantial addition rather than a minor side venture.
