Riftbound
Riftbound is Riot Games' trading card game set in the League of Legends universe, launched in May 2022. The game has grown to include multiple expansions and competitive initiatives over its first year.
The most recent expansion, Vendetta, introduces a rivalry-focused theme and a new mechanic called Showdown Decks that allow players to build around specific champion matchups. The set features new color combinations represented by champions including Kennen, Akali, Jayce, Zed, and Shen. Coverage highlights suggest Vendetta's design opens up meaningful deck-building variety, with mechanics that reward playing unconventional strategies.
Riftbound has expanded its competitive scene with team organizations like T1 entering the space, alongside community-focused initiatives aimed at inclusivity. Riot marked the game's first anniversary by announcing additional upcoming sets, signaling continued investment in the title despite its small development team.
