What is happening now
Black & White is a PC role-playing strategy game that launched in March 2023. The game centers on divine intervention mechanics where players assume a godlike role, with the experience shaped significantly by its AI systems. Recent coverage has revisited the game's historical significance, examining how its approach to artificial intelligence shaped player experience in ways that feel particularly relevant in the current landscape of AI-driven gaming. The pieces emphasize how the game's creature AI and dynamic systems created emergent, unpredictable interactions that defined the experience - a design philosophy that continues to influence discussions around AI's role in modern games.
