What is happening now
The King of Fighters '98 is a classic 1998 fighting game that has maintained a presence across arcade and home platforms for over two decades, from the Neo Geo to modern mobile and console releases. The game's roster and legacy continue to find new life through collaborations and spin-offs. Recently, Mai Shiranui from the series appeared in a crossover with Crystal of Atlan, an unrelated title that integrated the character as part of a broader update introducing a new Fighter class branch called Sugariff. The collaboration demonstrates how the King of Fighters franchise continues to extend its reach beyond its original home on arcade cabinets and specialized hardware.
