Ron Gilbert's 2017 point-and-click adventure Thimbleweed Park returns with an announced sequel arriving in early 2028. The original combined classic adventure-game design with a murder mystery premise and earned a devoted following across multiple platforms over the past seven years. The sequel's announcement came with an unusual funding story: rather than securing a traditional publisher deal, Gilbert and co-creator Gary Winnick found backing through a single wealthy fan of the original who wanted the series to continue.
