Professor Layton and the New World of Steam 2026

About

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam depicts the world one year after the events of "Professor Layton and the Unwound Future". Due to a mysterious incident in Steam Bison, a new adventure for Layton and Luke begins!

What is happening now

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam marks the franchise's return to console gaming after nearly a decade away from dedicated platforms. The puzzle-adventure title launches December 10 across PlayStation 5, Switch 2, PC, and the original Switch. The series last appeared on home consoles in 2012, with subsequent releases confined to mobile before a 2017 port arrived on Switch. This new entry represents a significant return for the long-dormant Professor Layton IP, bringing the character's signature logic puzzles and mystery-solving gameplay back to where the franchise originally found its audience.
