Maneater is an action-adventure game where you play as a shark, progressing through a comedic single-player campaign across multiple platforms. Since its 2020 release, the game has maintained a cult following for its irreverent premise and gameplay loop centered on hunting, evolving, and causing aquatic mayhem.
Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios have announced Maneater 2, set to release in 2027 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. The sequel relocates the action to Neptune's Kingdom, a luxury private island resort, and introduces new shark forms and combat mechanics - including the ability to wallrun. The game was revealed during a recent State of Play presentation, with the developers emphasizing their effort to deliver what they're calling the "ShaRkPG" experience. You'll again face off against various sea creatures including whales and crabs in what appears to be an expanded take on the original's formula.
