What is happening now

The Posthumous Investigation is an indie adventure that puts players in the role of a private detective hired by a deceased client. The game structures its mystery around a time loop conceit - each cycle through the investigation allows for new leads and revelations as you work to solve the case of an influential entrepreneur's death. Drawing inspiration from Brazilian author Machado de Assis, the game presents its noir-tinged narrative in stark black-and-white visuals with a darkly comedic tone. Originally released on PC in March 2026, the game has since expanded to new platforms. A Nintendo Switch version launched in September, bringing the investigation to portable hardware, while a mobile release also followed. The time loop structure appears to be the game's central mechanical hook, differentiating it from standard detective fiction by allowing repeated playthroughs to uncover the full picture of what happened.
