Jared Bush, chief creative officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, fielded a question about adapting Kingdom Hearts into an animated feature during a D23 interview with IGN. Bush stopped short of committing to the project but indicated openness to the possibility rather than dismissing it outright. The response suggests the studio sees potential in bringing the Disney-Square Enix collaboration to film, though any formal development remains speculative at this stage.
- Bush's measured stance keeps the door open for Kingdom Hearts as a film without signaling active development.
- Kingdom Hearts' existing fan base and cross-studio appeal make it a conceptually viable IP for animation adaptation.
