Activision has outlined the technical requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's upcoming beta, which kicks off August 21. PC players will need to enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on their systems, a hardware security measure tied to the game's Ricochet anti-cheat system. The publisher has released preload instructions alongside details on beta rewards and access procedures, giving players the information needed to prepare ahead of the first weekend.
The TPM and Secure Boot requirements represent a notable shift in the franchise's PC approach, enforcing stricter hardware-level security standards as part of Activision's ongoing effort to combat cheating in multiplayer titles.
- Beta begins August 21; PC players must enable TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, linking hardware security directly to anti-cheat infrastructure.
- Preload details and beta reward information are now available from Activision.
