Caravan SandWitch, a post-apocalyptic cooking sim, is currently free on the Epic Games Store app across iOS and Android through August 27. The game subverts expectations for the genre by pairing an end-of-the-world setting with lighter, more whimsical gameplay rather than the typically grim tone associated with apocalyptic fiction. Originally released in September 2024, the title has landed respectable critical reception, sitting at a 74% on Metacritic and 80% on IGDB's aggregated critic score.
The mobile version represents an interesting adaptation of what appears to be a premium title on other platforms, where it carries a standard retail price. Availability may vary by region.
- Caravan SandWitch is free on Epic Games Store mobile until late August across major platforms
- The game pairs post-apocalyptic storytelling with a cooking sim format, leaning into humor rather than bleakness
