Paradox Interactive's unannounced post-apocalyptic strategy title, Afterworld, surfaced ahead of schedule when the publisher inadvertently revealed it before its planned debut. The game was set to receive its official unveiling during Gamescom Opening Night Live, but leaked details emerged just a day before that presentation. While the premature disclosure robbed Paradox of a controlled reveal, the timing meant the damage was minimal in the grand scheme of the event cycle.
The leak provides early confirmation that Paradox continues expanding beyond its historical grand-strategy wheelhouse into fresh genre territory. Strategy fans will get their first official look at Afterworld soon enough, even if the surprise element has been somewhat deflated.
- Paradox's new post-apocalyptic strategy game leaked a day before its intended Gamescom reveal.
- The official announcement was scheduled for Gamescom Opening Night Live.
