D3 Publisher and Sandlot have announced Earth Defense Force 6.2: Invaders from Another World, an enhanced iteration of the original Earth Defense Force 6. The expanded version will launch exclusively on PS5 in 2027. Details remain sparse at this stage, though the designation as an enhanced release suggests additional content, gameplay refinements, or both beyond the base game.
The PS5 exclusivity marks a notable platform decision, as Earth Defense Force titles have traditionally released across multiple systems. The 2027 window gives the studio considerable development time, positioning this as more than a quick port or minor update.
- Enhanced Earth Defense Force 6 variant coming to PS5 only in 2027, not a sequel but an expanded version of the original.
- Platform exclusivity to PlayStation 5 differs from the series' typical multi-platform approach.
- Limited announcement details leave the scope of improvements undefined for now.
