Microsoft has opened pre-orders for a Designed for XBOX 25th Anniversary Collection, marking a quarter-century of the franchise. The lineup includes a limited edition Series X console and matching controller, both drawing visual inspiration from the original Xbox's iconic translucent green aesthetic. The collection incorporates design elements and hidden details meant to commemorate Xbox's 25-year history, blending nostalgia with modern hardware.
The release represents a significant milestone celebration for the platform, combining retro styling cues with current-generation technology. This kind of anniversary-focused hardware release serves both longtime fans seeking a collectible tribute and those interested in the visual refresh on contemporary consoles.
- The collection pairs the original Xbox's recognizable translucent green design with a modern Series X console and controller.
- Pre-orders are live now, with the set featuring design touches that reference the franchise's quarter-century history.
- This positions the anniversary hardware as a blend of nostalgia and current-gen performance for both collectors and active players.
