Team17's Worms franchise is expanding with Worms: Galactic Tactics, a new entry announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live for Nintendo Switch 2, targeting a 2027 launch. The reveal came alongside a teaser for an additional unannounced Worms title currently in development, though details on that second project remain under wraps for now.
The dual announcement suggests Team17 is doubling down on the turn-based strategy series for Nintendo's upcoming hardware. With Galactic Tactics positioned as a 2027 release, it won't be an immediate Switch 2 launch window title, but the promise of multiple Worms projects in the pipeline indicates sustained support for the franchise across the console generation.
- Worms: Galactic Tactics is headed to Switch 2 in 2027, revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
- A second, unannounced Worms game is also in development, with specifics to come later.
- The announcements position the franchise as a multi-title presence on Nintendo's next platform.
