Afterburner Studios, the team behind 2021's Dreamscaper, has partnered with publisher Focus Entertainment to announce Elta: Defy All Gods, a sci-fi action-platformer revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The game is slated for release next year and follows a warrior protagonist. Beyond these core details, the studios have kept specifics under wraps, leaving the scope of the project and gameplay particulars for later reveals.
The move positions Afterburner for a significant tonal and genre shift from their debut. Dreamscaper found success as an indie roguelike, while Elta appears positioned as a larger-scale action title under Focus Entertainment's backing - a natural step for a studio looking to expand ambitions after an established first project.
- Afterburner Studios moves to a new sci-fi action-platformer with major publisher support, following the indie success of Dreamscaper.
- The game was announced at a major industry event, signaling Focus Entertainment's commitment to the title's visibility.
- Release timing is pegged to 2025, though more gameplay details remain undisclosed.
