HoYoverse revealed Nodus Fall, an upcoming dark-fantasy action RPG, during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. The announcement marks a notable tonal shift for the developer, which has built its reputation on vibrant, colorful games like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. The studio's pivot toward darker aesthetic and thematic territory suggests it's expanding beyond the bright anime-influenced worlds players have come to expect from its catalog.
- HoYoverse is moving away from its signature colorful aesthetic with Nodus Fall's darker direction.
- The new title is positioned as an action RPG, fitting the studio's track record with action-focused gameplay.
- The reveal at a major industry event signals this is a significant project for the Chinese publisher.
