Lyrical Games and developer One More Level have released a story trailer for Valor Mortis, their first-person souls-like action RPG headed to Xbox Series and PC via Steam on October 13, 2026. The roughly 90-second trailer introduces key characters that protagonist William Dowsett will meet throughout the game, set in an alternate 19th-century Europe shaped by an enigmatic substance. The trailer serves as a narrative primer ahead of the October launch.
- First-person souls-likes remain a niche but growing segment; Valor Mortis positions itself as a narrative-driven entry in that space.
- The alternate-history setting and character focus suggest the developers are balancing combat challenge with story engagement, departing from genre conventions that often downplay narrative.
