Konami has released a launch update for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 timed to the collection's August 27 debut. The free update improves visual presentation across the compilation, which bundles Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, and additional titles. The patch specifically enhances cutscene resolution in Peace Walker and introduces Portuguese subtitles, expanding language support for the package.
The timing of this launch-day update underscores Konami's effort to polish the collection at release rather than leaving visual improvements for later patches. While the scope of enhancements appears focused on specific areas rather than a comprehensive overhaul, the addition of Portuguese localization signals attention to regional accessibility beyond the original releases.
- Free day-one update improves Peace Walker cutscene resolution and adds Portuguese subtitle support across the collection.
- The Master Collection Vol. 2 launches August 27 with four mainline and spin-off Metal Gear titles bundled together.
- Konami timed quality-of-life improvements to coincide with release rather than staggering them post-launch.
