Sony has scheduled a State of Play showcase for September 3rd, 2026, with two consecutive broadcasts planned for that day. The main event will feature updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios alongside third-party partners, while a dedicated State of Play Japan presentation will follow immediately after. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is confirmed to receive new footage during the showcase.
The back-to-back format gives Sony a chance to address both global and Japanese audiences in a single presentation window, potentially streamlining how the company communicates with regional player bases on major announcements.
- Two State of Play streams airing consecutively on September 3rd, with the Japan-focused broadcast following the main event.
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be featured with fresh gameplay or footage.
- Updates from both first-party PlayStation Studios and third-party developers are planned.
