What is happening now

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is a cooperative shooter set in the Alien universe, released on Nintendo Switch 2 in late August 2026. The game arrived to largely negative reception, with reviewers characterizing it as a significant step backward from its predecessor. Coverage highlights widespread frustration with the sequel's execution, describing it as one of 2026's more notable missteps for a franchise that has seen various video game interpretations over the years. The critical consensus suggests the game struggles to meet expectations for a follow-up to an established co-op shooter, though detailed breakdowns of specific mechanical or design issues remain limited in available coverage.
