About

Fortnite came out on June 29, 2020 for Android, iOS, Mac and Nintendo Switch, then for Xbox Series X|S on November 10, 2020 and for PlayStation 5 on November 12, 2020. The main story takes about 3839 hours, doing everything about 12524 hours. It won 2 awards, including The Game Awards − Best Ongoing and The Game Awards − Best Multiplayer.

Fortnite is a free-to-play online game where you and your friends can create, play and battle. Be the last player standing in Battle Royale and Zero Build, experience a concert or live event, or discover over a million creator-made games, including racing, parkour, zombie survival and more.

What is happening now

Fortnite continues to expand its roster and systems with the latest Chapter 7 Season 4 updates. Sonic the Hedgehog serves as the centerpiece of the current Battle Pass, though the character's inclusion required an unconventional solution - Sega created an entirely new version of Sonic specifically for Fortnite to work around licensing constraints tied to the character's combat abilities. Meanwhile, the game has introduced the Sprite Mastery system with corresponding rewards, supported by limited-time Cheat Master Hours events that help players complete their collections. The season also features narrative content like the "Geno: The Ultimate Reality" story quest. On the infrastructure side, Epic has rolled out cross-platform voice chat functionality through Epic Parties, enabling unified communication across Fortnite, the Epic Games Store, and Epic's mobile ecosystem.
