No Man's Sky, the space exploration simulator from Hello Games, continues its evolution eight years after launch with the Cosmos update marking its 10th anniversary. The free update delivers a comprehensive overhaul of outer space gameplay, introducing orbital bases, player-owned space stations, salvageable space hulks, asteroid belts, and a gravity gun for combat encounters. Players can now form alliances with others to explore and conquer shared objectives across the galaxy.

The Cosmos update addresses what Hello Games identifies as one of its most requested features since the game's 2016 debut. Beyond the new space infrastructure and salvage operations, the update enables players to finally reach and visit the sun itself. The studio has also signaled that technology developed for Cosmos will serve as a foundation for its larger upcoming project, Light No Fire, hinting at shared systems across Hello Games' expanding universe of games.
