Developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, the game has you playing as Spider-Man in the events of the movie while also adding new enemies like the Shocker and Vulture. The gameplay consists of successive levels where you need to defeat thugs with your fists and web and save someone/something from multiple sources of danger until you reach the boss of the section. You either fight in enclosed environments or swing around New-York City in "aerial" sequences.

Story

Spider bites can sometimes turn you into a superhero, as in the case of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: The Movie. Assume the role of Peter, a good-hearted teenager bitten by a genetically engineered spider, which gives him muscles, incredible strength, and spider-like abilities. You’ll have to learn how to control your powers including Spider Sense, web-slinging, and wall crawling, and the all-new aerial combat moves. The world’s toughest villains, including Shocker, Vulture, and the Green Goblin will all be after you. Are you up for the challenge?

What is happening now

This 2002 action-adventure title across GameCube, PS2, and PC established the web-slinging formula for a generation of Spider-Man games. Recent coverage, however, focuses almost entirely on the film franchise rather than the original game itself. Andrew Garfield has continued advocating for diverse interpretations of Peter Parker, while Tom Holland's recent Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved significant box office success, ranking as the third highest-grossing film worldwide following its late-July release. Garfield has acknowledged not yet seeing the film or congratulating Holland on its performance.
