About

Grunty returns—and that's bad news for Banjo and Kazooie! In this all-new adventure, combine everything you learned in the award-winning prequel, Banjo-Kazooie, with dozens of brand-new moves and abilities. Explore eight original worlds-like a monstrous factory and a dilapidated amusement park. Solve incredible puzzles that link those worlds together—sometimes you'll have to complete tasks in several worlds to solve a single puzzle!

What is happening now

Banjo-Tooie is the 2000 Nintendo 64 sequel to Rare's platformer adventure, expanding on the original's exploration and puzzle-solving across interconnected worlds. The bear and bird duo return with new moves and abilities to collect musical notes and puzzle pieces. Recent ports have brought renewed attention to the game. Blaze Entertainment's Evercade Nexus version was developed using original Rare source code and uncovered previously unknown features embedded in the codebase that even Rare wasn't aware of. The team worked directly with Rare to add new content to the port. Meanwhile, some in the community have voiced criticism of other fan-driven recompilation projects, particularly regarding how their creators have approached the work and engaged with the community.
