NBA 2K26 is the latest entry in the long-running basketball simulation series, bringing the franchise to Nintendo Switch 2 alongside its usual platforms. The game launched in early September 2025 and has since become the subject of several promotional campaigns aimed at bringing in new players.

The title has been made available through multiple trial programs in recent weeks. Xbox Game Pass subscribers gained access through Free Play Days, while Nintendo Switch Online members can currently try the game through a Game Trial that includes both local and online multiplayer modes across Switch and Switch 2. Steam players also had an opportunity to sample the full game free for a limited period. These initiatives suggest 2K's push to expand the series' reach beyond its traditional audience.
