What is happening now

Blair Witch is an adventure game released in 2019 that draws from the found-footage horror framework established by its namesake franchise. The title represents an indie effort to translate that particular brand of unsettling atmosphere into interactive form across multiple platforms. Recent coverage focuses primarily on the original Blair Witch Project creators' continued work in the franchise rather than the game itself. The filmmakers behind the 1999 film have returned to found-footage horror with The Influencer Project, a new film centering on a content creator experiencing a stalking ordeal. In interviews discussing their modern take on the format, these creators have also teased an upcoming franchise reboot slated for 2027, suggesting a broader revival of the Blair Witch property across media. Whether this expanded universe activity will influence future game entries remains unclear, but it underscores renewed industry interest in the Blair Witch brand.
