Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a shooter-RPG hybrid set in Games Workshop's grimdark far-future universe, originally released in 2011 across PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. Players take on the role of a Space Marine, engaging in melee and ranged combat through the game's campaign.
A third entry in the series is in development at Saber Interactive. While the studio's recent work on John Carpenter's Toxic Commando underperformed against publisher Focus Entertainment's initial targets, the technical groundwork laid during that project is expected to inform Space Marine 3's development. The studio views the technology investments as valuable carryover for the upcoming sequel.
