The Night Shift is a neo-noir deduction game where you are the last desk between the accused and the cells. Suspects land in your custody one by one: cross-check their documents, spot forgeries, break alibis, and stamp your verdict while the shift clock breathes down your neck. The routine always breaks. Teletype tips, precinct blackouts, lawyers springing suspects mid-shift, the captain leaning on you for results. And the culprits you let walk? They come back, with a worse case, and they remember your face. A 7-night campaign with named recurring characters, boss confrontations against The Broker's lieutenants, and 8 different endings shaped by your corruption, your accuracy, and your conscience.
What is happening now
The Night Shift is a single-player top-down shooter from indie developer ZelForge, featuring 34 weapons across a 70-mission campaign alongside Waves and Survival modes. The game launched on Windows at the end of January 2025. Since release, coverage has highlighted the game's retro horror aesthetic inspired by PS1-era design, positioning it alongside similar survival-focused titles in the indie space. The developer has announced an Android release is in development, with the game already available on VK Play. A playable demo is currently available for those interested in sampling the experience before committing to the full release.
