About

Star Wars is a Family Computer video game released in 1987 by Namco. Despite being based on the first Star Wars film. It is the only game in the Star Wars franchise that was released exclusively in Japan. The game is a common side-scrolling platformer where the player controls Luke Skywalker (appearing with black hair due to color limitations), as he travels to join the Rebellion against the Empire.

What is happening now

Star Wars: Zero Company is a strategy game developed by Bit Reactor that launched in late August to strong critical reception. The release came with significant uncertainty for the studio, however, as Bit Reactor furloughed most of its workforce ahead of launch. Following the game's successful commercial performance, the developer has begun recalling furloughed staff, with the studio publicly committing to bringing back as many employees as possible. The recall represents a positive turn for a team that faced an unstable period during what should have been the project's culmination.
