About
Inspired by Disney's Aladdin movie, you take control of Aladdin riding a carpet, dodging arrows and collecting hearts. Eric Carr, the programmer behind this game, ran out of space for hearts, but still arrived at a fun little endless dodging game that starts slow and quickly gets difficult.
What is happening now
Magic Carpet Ride is an arcade game released in February 2024 for Atari 8-bit systems. The game appears connected to a larger project called 1001 Threads of Mizan, which debuted at gamescom 2026. Based on hands-on time with the broader experience, observers have suggested MBC Game Studio's work shows considerable promise, though details about the relationship between the two titles remain unclear from available coverage.
