What is happening now
IO Interactive's James Bond action-RPG landed in April 2023 as a PC exclusive, tasking players with balancing stealth, gunplay, and improvisation across spy missions. The game received strong critical and fan reception, establishing itself as a notable entry in the Bond gaming canon. Since launch, 007 First Light has seen steady support and expansion. A major patch addressed over 200 issues and introduced new TacSim missions, while the game gained Steam Deck compatibility. The title also lost its Denuvo DRM protection. Licensing complications briefly emerged when Amazon suggested it might develop future sequels, but the publisher has since clarified that IO Interactive remains the preferred developer for any Bond follow-up. A Nintendo Switch 2 port is planned for later in the year, signaling continued momentum for the franchise.
