Manage your escape from an onslaught of walkers in this cross-over between the time management escape game The Escapists and the blockbuster zombie franchise The Walking Dead. Using the retro graphical style of The Escapists, the game gives you control of Rick Grimes as he tries to secure the safety of a number of familiar characters by seeking out a safe escape route from each area, fending off the zombie hordes and keeping as many of them alive as possible as they escape. The game will faithfully keep to the timeline of the comics, so as you progress you'll move through a series of familiar locations.

The Escapists is a prison escape simulation where players use puzzle-solving and tactical planning to break out of increasingly elaborate facilities. The series blends strategy with creative problem-solving across multiple platforms since its 2015 debut. Team17 has announced The Escapists 3, marking the franchise's shift to full 3D graphics while maintaining the core escape mechanics that defined the originals. The sequel is scheduled for 2027 and will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2. The move to three dimensions represents the most significant visual overhaul for the series, though the studio has indicated the fundamental gameplay loop that players enjoy will carry forward into the new installment.
