What is happening now
The Escapists 3 is the next installment in Team17's prison escape simulation series, moving the franchise into full 3D for the first time. The game is slated to release across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 31, 2027. The announcement marks a significant visual departure from the series' previous top-down perspective. While the shift to three-dimensional graphics represents the most notable change, Team17 has indicated the sequel will preserve the core elements that defined earlier entries. The game is now confirmed for Switch 2, expanding its platform reach alongside the current generation of consoles.
