Iron Nest is the best 'Battleship' game I've played in years—and it doesn't even have boats
Use your smarts to locate enemies and meticulously plot firing solutions.
Battleship game
Released May 12, 2022
Battleship is an action game released in May 2022 for PC, macOS, and Linux that strips the naval combat concept down to its strategic core. Rather than commanding literal warships, the game focuses on the deduction and tactical firing mechanics that make the classic board game compelling - players must locate opponents and carefully calculate their shots.
Recent coverage has highlighted Iron Nest as a standout entry in the genre, praised for delivering the cerebral challenge of Battleship gameplay without adhering to traditional naval trappings. The game's emphasis on smart reconnaissance and methodical attack planning appears to be resonating with players looking for strategic depth over thematic authenticity.
